Six fully interactive Flash-based modules provide a core development program which is based on over 20 years of best practice selling techniques, tailored to very specific client, market and regional factors. The product takes learners of all levels through both prospecting and selling disciplines. To enhance learner engagement each module has a variety of built in multiple choice questions, quick fire Q&A sessions, clear (and measurable) links back to the workplace in the form of straightforward assignments and an online assessment and results reporting mechanism. Modules are broken down into bite-size 20 minutes parts that provide everything your team need to know; taking a new recruit through to being productive or just giving your experienced pros a refresher.

The program now also features a supportive, but essentially stand alone, e-trainer module and field successes have inspired development of an e-manager module and a client request for a customer sales specific module.  To date this product has been translated into 9 languages (Chinese/French/Greek/Persian/Polish/Russian/Spanish/Thai/Turkish).

To say that we’re excited about this exclusive access project and totally blown away by the levels of skill and experience in the team are massive understatements.

Conceived by two massive rev heads Ben Grayson and Chris Endean, these events are like nothing before.  Whether you’ve never touched a clutch lever before or rarely get down on two wheels, there is a challenge to be had for everyone with additional coaching coming in the shape of our current leading UK riders.  Rates for track and corporate days are silly low, so whilst it might be hard on your wrists and backside, it won’t go too hard on your wallet.

When it comes to asking for client feedback, the four main areas of interest for me are; Approach to the work, timing, planning etc / Understanding of key project outcomes / Ability to deliver these outcomes / Professionalism, interaction with others and then of course any other comments/views/feedback…

It’s a sad thing to have to highlight (as with any industry) that there are a lot of chancers in the creative field.  As kind as they are, these are simply words on the web and without you knowing the full ins and outs of the project they may not mean much to you.  I would advise and welcome prospective clients to talk to my past clients to get a real understanding of what I do, and more importantly, how I do it.  My reputation is very important to me, when I’m dead and gone all that will remain is a few images and my reputation so 100% satisfaction begins right at the start of the process.  Please also note that I never invoice a job until my client is completely happy (and so far that has not yet come up).

Whilst I am fascinated (and impressed) by the chemical and darkroom fixing methods my clients generally require quick returns and delivery via digital transports (email/disc) so Photoshop has become my work area.  Having said that, every now and then an image turns up that is simply asking for photo editing.  These samples are just humble reflections of far greater works such as the bright yellow New York Taxi in a grey urban backdrop or the girl in the red dress, then later simply the dress in Schindler’s List; both of which had a great effect on me when I first saw them.  Use of colour segments in monochrome settings, or vice versa can relay powerful (direct) messages within the very subjective field that is photography.  It’s great that editing software has so many swish automated editing processes but for outputs like this I still opt to do every aspect manually as it lets me look back on the work with more emotional involvement.  For commercial work with aggressive deadlines I outsource to a number of select, trusted professionals across my creative network.  This creative collaboration with specialists, in what for me is generally a solo science is usually very enjoyable and developmental and always produces work far beyond the reach of my technical editing skills.

Truth be told, I have no aspirations to be a graphic artist, or for that matter an artist at all; many years working in the fields of people and organisational development have given me a strong desire to capture things as they are and aside from a little tidy around or client fluffing, not effect too much change in what I see.

Photographically I have worked with BAUER UK providing images to document their work in the heavy duty compressor market – think big lorry containers jam packed full of British mechanical wizardry.  I spent some time travel writing and trying to do justice to the life I have led this summer but it was difficult when you’re bombing around here, there and everywhere on a GSXR (naturally all at the requisite speed limits officer!).  A major highlight of my early stage adventure was my writing a piece for MCN, the Brit Bikers Bible.  It was a great honour to supply them copy and images whilst unearthing a new and vibrant biking destination – Slovakia.

Personally it’s been something of a Boy’s Own dream.  I have found time to write seriously  and feel myself to be coming of age.  I have also met the woman that I will marry and we even have our first puppy!  Whilst he’s a cute little fur ball of mayhem, Massive is shaping up well and breaking hearts where ever he goes!

Into 2011

The coming year will see me working in two new creative arenas; video production and as the author, designer / developer and custodian of an e-learning platform.  I’m very proud to working with a talented film maker to deliver 2 x 45 minutes training videos for the global engineering giants, Schlumberger.  The e-learning platform is also a global reach initiative and will eventually roll out across the entire Straumann Group!  Both projects hold very interesting long term possibilities and I’m really looking forward to a period of serious personal and professional development.

Other news from around the camp-fire, digitimaging will be expanding slightly and taking on it’s first pseudo employee.  From January I will have a personal assistant to support the move into Eastern European business development and provide technical assistance with both studio and location activities.

All in all not bad going for a lad from Derby!
